There’s been a slight change of plan. Instead of a front with multiple pinholes there will be just one pinhole centrally mounted to start with. But the front panel is not glued but only taped, so that it can be removed and replaced with a front with multiple pinholes in the near future.
A pinhole will cast on the film plane a circular image whose diameter is 3.5 times the focal length of the camera. So the image formed in this camera will be 9.45 cm in diameter.
Now to finish off the building of the camera:
This is the rear view with the outer back glued and taped in place.
All the joints on the inside of the camera have been taped with gaffer and then sprayed with matt black paint as gaffer tape is slightly shiny.
The next step is to mount the pinhole – a precision drilled 0.2mm aperture – in the front panel which is then attached by tape only to the rest of the body.
All the external joints of the camera are gaffer taped – for strength and lighfastness.
And that is the camera finished. Now to make some exposures.
